Here at the Comfort Authority, we love celebrating Halloween.
Each year is a little different, and this one seems to be no exception. Also called Hallowe’en, All Hallow’s Eve, or All Saint’s Eve; Halloween is a celebration observed all over the world on October 31. Since the 1800’s, American’s have celebrated October 31 as Halloween. Back then, Irish and Scottish immigrants brough folklores and traditions to North America. Over the last two centuries, many new traditions have developed all over the world.
By the 1950’s, Halloween became a more charitable day when UNICEF began collecting money instead of candy for children in need. Asking for a trick or treat, while dressing up and going door to door is a popular event. Nowadays, 85%-90% of kids in both the US and Canada spend Halloween evening trick or treating. Asking for candy is the most favored event on Halloween, but it is also a day for parties. In fact, Halloween is the third most popular party date each year behind New Year’s Eve and the Superbowl.
Each of our team celebrate in their own ways, but our owners seem to love this last day of October the most! The Comfort Authority would love for you to share your Halloween photos with us through our Facebook page. Feel free to comment and post one of your family’s favorite memories.
Happy Halloween to you and yours!
