Yesterday I had The Comfort Authority install a whole new AC system in my home. I have been getting quotes and talking to many companies about my options and price. Based on a referral from Facebook I called them out for a quote and within 2 hours I decided this was the best company to use. Shawn and Freddie did the most amazing job for the amount of work that needed to be done, They arrived at 8:15 am and left at 11PM!!! Steve the owner came by along with another helper Austin. The quality of the work based on how complicated my install was blew me away.!!! I heard from the owner on JULY 4th to touch base and address a few issues that need to be worked on based on some wiring in my home that was not working. If you are looking for a company to replace or service your AC you HAVE to call them. I have done the leg work and no one compares to the quality/warranties and value for the price. I did not go with the least expensive system this is my home and this is not the place to cut corners. If you don’t call them to take care of your AC needs you don’t need a repair company you need a CAT -SCAN...LOL . Wish I would have found them a month ago my house would have been so much cooler!!! Update 2/7/25 -- We had our annual inspection and ended up getting a new replacement A/C unit. Comfort Authority was extremely patient walking through the process and options, as well as working within our budget. The next day our installers Gary and Ren came out and did a fantastic job, they provided top notch service throughout the entire installation. We've been using Comfort Authority for a couple of years now and I would unreservedly recommend them to anyone. Original Review: I had a competitor out to our house the day prior, not only were they grossly overcharging, when they flushed our AC it only lasted for 15 hours before it overflowed and shut off the thermostat again. I then called The Comfort Authority the following day, and the technician David Hood immediately diagnosed and fixed the issue and saved us from having to replace the piping. David really went out of his way to ensure we received the best service possible. I'll definitely be using The Comfort Authority from now on, and can not recommend them enough.

I called with an issue about my A/C unit which is old and on its last legs. The crew was pretty prompt and I had someone out to my house to check things out by the next day. They were professional, courteous, and seemed to really know their stuff. Using some impressive technology they showed me problem spots in the home, areas in the attic that needed immediate attention, and pointed out the downfalls of my current system. I was charged for a new capacitor to get the system up and going and received a comprehensive write-up with various replacement system options within 5 days. When my unit stopped working soon after the crew left, the owner Steve called and offered to refund my Home Warranty service payment and service my system for the next 12 months free-of-charge. That kind of follow-up is what makes this company unique and makes me satisfied with the choice I made.

Comfort Authority certainly lives up to its name. Having installed my A/C four years ago, their ongoing service continues to boast excellence. After my compressor just stopped working, Rick spent a few hours sleuthing all the circuitry to track down an illusive wire deep inside the unit hidden from view that had burned through due to leaning against one of the coils. I appreciate Rick's determination and perseverance to troubleshoot and fix the problem. Chris was also able to help me troubleshoot a separate problem over the phone to get my unit working again. Comfort Authority continues to show leadership in their team spirit of working with each other to keep their customers up and running. Update 12/29/2022: Gerald came out to help with humidity settings and caught a couple of other issues that needed attention. He was knowledgeable, kind, professional, and a clear communicator. Thanks CA. 03/24/23: Gerald came out again and once more, was quite thorough in doing an assessment of a musty smell we were getting. His follow through on rechecking everything after cleaning out my plugged drain pipe was great. 10/04/24 - I’ve had Michael twice now, once to put in an electric pump for the drainage (which works great), and the other to clean out the duct work and trouble shoot the failing Remi Halo. Michael seems to be very well rounded in his knowledge of A/C systems.

Eric Clauss of the Comfort Authority-Tampa plumbing division performed our annual plumbing maintenance inspection today. He provided several useful suggestions about bathroom plumbing and was able to provide improved pressure at a fixture of concern. Eric is very friendly and in my opinion provided 5 star plumbing service for us. Highly recommended.

We have had our Payne AC for 27 years. Started a maintenance plan with "The Comfort Authority" a year ago. Over the years, we normally kept our internal air around 72 degrees with 56 percent humidity. It continued to work just fine. But after our last servicing, TJ recommended we start shopping for a new AC system. He naturally recommended his company and more specifically, an 'Inverter AC System'. Asked him to provide a quote. Along with the quote, we received a phone call from the owner of Comfort Authority, Steve Cox. He was very positive and confident about his being the best company with the best people. After quotes from 2 other AC companies, and more research on the products recommended by all 3 companies, I decided on the Inverter AC technology. Went back to The Comfort Authority and closed the deal for a new SEER 17+, 5 ton Inverter System with Air Handler in the attic and compressor outside. As far as I could gather, the inverter system worked with a variable compressor motor that housed a master controller that communicated with the air handler controller and thermostat. The speed of the motor was regulated by data received from the indoor/outdoor sensors of the air handler and thermostat. The purpose being more efficient and scalable cooling and heating with less loss of energy. The decision to choose The Comfort Authority was based on pricing, equipment, and convincing assurances that the installers were skilled and reliable professionals. The Inverter AC System, manufactured and branded by Daiken for the Comfort Authority was installed yesterday by Peter, Marshall, Austin, and Freddie. They called to say they were on their way to make our 9:00 am appointment. They arrived at 8:50am. After introducing himself and all the other members of the team, Peter went over every listed item in the order, ensuring we had an understanding and agreement before the work was started. I sign the acknowledgements. They got started. In addition to removing the old system and bringing in the new, they installed a new pad for the compressor, replaced the grates on the return air risers, crawled through the attic and Mastek sealed the existing flex ducting and air handler, added electric surge suppressors for the air handler and compressor, whole house filter with new plenum to maximize coverage with new air handler, soldered copper tubing and insulated piping, zip tied the wiring, installed a new thermostat with a new app for my mobile phone, along with a good lesson on its use. Even though it started raining real hard, it didn't slow them down a bit. They opened a portable tarp to cover the outside installation. All the work is best described as team work. Everyone helping each other get their work done. The work was done well and on time. After sweeping and removing all debris from the attic, garage, and outside work areas, they left us with an amazing AC system. Our normal comfort level is now 2 degrees higher, 74F, and 10 degrees lower humidity, 46. What an amazingly comfortable and cost saving experience. Just met Ray, first time assigned to do our semi-annual AC maintenance and checkup. After seven years, our Remy Halo UV system, which was installed on the outtake side of our Air Handler needed to be replaced. The Halo ensures a cleaner duct system to our home. We have an additional UV light on the intake to air handler. He had the new Halo in his van and replaced the old in about 15 minutes. Fortunately, we are on their Comfort plan, which provided a good discount. Ray is a courteous professional who we look forward to servicing our home again in the summer.

I have been a member for HVAC and I am now impressed with their plumbing program. Glenn Betancourt came out to do the yearly inspection and was very thorough. I highly recommend Comfort Authority.

I just had Raymond service my A/C unit and he did an outstanding job! He cleaned my coils on the inside unit and replaced my UV lights. On the outside unit he removed vines that had grown into the coils. He was very professional, He explained everything in detail each step of the way and offered me suggestions how to clean and care for my unit moving forward. I am so pleased with his work! I called Comfort Authority early this morning and the tech was here within 3 hours. Chase Prather was able to find and fixed the issue right away. He was very helpful and extremely great to work with. It turned out that the part and labor were under warranty so it was fixed at no cost. I took the opportunity to install a surge protector for the unit which Chase installed immediately. Thanks Chase, you were great. Thank you Comfort Authority for always delivering great service. Forgot to state previously how great David Hood was. Showed up on time and had the ac working right away. He explained everything he was doing step by step explained how it could be avoided in the future with very helpful tips. Great service! Not only did he fixed a difficult issue to diagnose but he came back as promised when a few hours after he left the ac acted up again. Mike was right on time. He explained and showed me the problem. Also said that the uv lights needed to be replaced. He showed me the upper light was burned out and that it was causing mold. Update: we were so pleased with the service they provided for our HVAC that we decided to hire them for our water heater replacement (yes they do plumbing too!). Eric was on time, efficient, and communicative throughout the process. Only took him a couple hours from start to finish to complete. Very pleased. Our HVAC had stopped working in the dead of summer. I left a message for Comfort Authority as they were highly recommended by neighbors, and they called me back first thing the following morning to schedule a tech to come out. Michael was fantastic, he was diligent in his diagnosis and gave me a few options. We deemed it necessary to just replace our 22 year-old unit and Michael immediately had Derek come out to draw me up some figures and gave me plenty of options. They got us on the schedule for the following day for the replacement and gave us some portable AC units to hold us over until the new HVAC was up and running. Gary came and installed it for us and was very diligent in showing me exactly what was done. I highly recommend these guys, they are hard-working and very thorough.

I called the Comfort Authority because I was not happy with my previous HVAC service company. I chose them based on universally positive reviews on Google, Better Business Bureau, Yelp and Angie's List. Making an appointment was easy. Rick Haven arrived on schedule and listened patiently as I explained all the problems I was having with my system. He then proceeded to do a thorough examination of our compressor and air handler. He showed us pictures of each component and explained all the readings he obtained in his tests. We now feel confident our system is in good working order. Thanks Rick. Hope you enjoyed the soup. This is a follow-up review. It’s been 2 years since my original post. Unfortunately, time had not been kind to our 10 year old HVAC system. It’s time for a replacement. During our annual checkup, our technician, Tony, pointed out a couple of costly repairs that needed to be done. Rather than sinking $2000 into an old system, we agreed to meet with one of their specialists to discuss a new system. Derrick arrived the same day and spent about 90 minutes evaluating our system and discussing our options. We decided to go with a new system that could be installed the next day. The following morning 2 technicians arrived and began the work of removing our outdoor unit as well as the air handler which is in our second-floor attic. Gary and Rob were excellent. Very thorough, neat and professional. It took more than 8 hours to complete the installation. We now have a reliable system that we hope will keep our home cool for many years to come. Thanks for the hard work. Follow-up review. I called the Comfort Authority since it was the first cold day of the season since our new system was installed. The system was not blowing in warm air, so I gave them a call and they were able to send someone right out to diagnose the problem. Apparently a valve the controls whether the system produces cool or warm air was not tightened properly when the system was installed. Problem quickly solved by technical Glenn Betancourt. Thanks. Follow-up review. Michael Kennedy came out and performed our annual system check-up and maintenance. He was very thorough and communicated well throughout the process. He identified a failed UV unit that has been on the system and its predecessor for a number of years and was able to replace it with a new unit during the same visit. Very happy with Michael's work and the Comfort Authority in general.

Technician went the extra mile to locate fan motor for air handler and drove to another county to pick up so that I could have air back same day. Excellent follow through as well regarding scheduled time.

After calling a few local plumbers, nobody had availability today. I called The Comfort Authority - Plumbing at 8:00 and they had someone here within an hour of our first call. First impression matters and the dispatch team nailed it. They were very communicative and timely with calls and responses. They even send a little introduction to the technician they are sending which is nice personal touch. Eric arrived and asked about the problem (clogged bathtub drain), assessed the situation, and immediately acted on the issue after my approval of rates. He was fast, efficient, and precise. Prior to leaving, he showed me the problem was fixed and also cleaned the area. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in need of a plumbing solution. Great experience from working with Derek, sales rep to figure out which unit and which heating and cooling features to go with, to a perfect installation by the team, Seth and Ren. Can I give Seth 10 stars? Because he's the man you want to come out. Very through, knowledgeable, honest and enjoyable. He gave me a detailed quote after doing the ac tune up (which was only $89! 🤯) It was incredibly reasonable for the services. He didn't want to do anything unnecessary or harmful to my unit. He didn't try to sell me some fancy brand new AC unit, he gave me ALL the options in his report. If you book them, which I recommend, ask for Seth!

Michael diagnosed why water was in my overflow pan while the A/C was still running on my 1-yr old system. He came the morning after I phoned. His communication skills were exceptional and his manner comforting in the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. He respected my property and cleaned up after his work. He analyzed the system, replaced the bad float switches, cleaned out the drain and installed surge protectors. I like how he showed and explained the problems he saw and what could done to fix them. He was also mindful of insurance and warranty claims.

Top notch service! If HVAC companies were on a dating app, I would swipe right. Professional, timely, respectful of your house, good communication with texts and phone calls. I knew I was going to need to replace my AC after buying my townhome 3 years ago. I initially went with a system check up because it wasn’t running like the beast it used to be (est 2007). Glenn the technician came out and said she needed some work. He kept it real and then I decided to divorce my old one and upgrade to a new younger, prettier, more efficient one. Gary and Uzi came by the next day and swapped the old ex out and now Im living in some vacation temperatures. Also Derek was great and made the whole paperwork process a breeze. I definitely could have gotten it cheaper somewhere else, but so far the quality has been 💯. I’ll add any additional reviews as we live together for the next year.

Called in the morning and the technician arrived around 1:00pm, troubleshoot the system, replaced a capacitor, did some system checks and had it back running by 3:00pm. Excellent service!

Had my AC cleaned today by Demmar. He was so nice and really explained everything he was doing to me and my landlord. Showed us all the pictures he took and told us what to do in between appointments to keep our AC in tip top shape. Edit April 2024: I've been a happy Comfort Authority customer for my AC and now they added the plumbing business! I'm thrilled with the professionalism, friendliness and beautiful installation of my new water heater. Eric and Gary did an excellent job on a difficult Hyrid Heat pump water heater. The price was right and the service was Excellent as always. The CA is my goto company for all my plumbing needs now... Thanks guys! ...... I had my AC installed by this company a few years ago. Steve and his team were exceptional then, and remain my go-to team for my HVAC needs. I just finished an inspection and the tech was on time, courteous and answered all of my nerdy questions about AC systems and airflows. Definitely would recommend these guys and their classical "golden rule type" friendly business model to anyone. This is one of the better companies (not just HVAC) that I've had the pleasure working with in Tampa or anywhere!

I just had an outstanding experience with The Comfort Authority. The scheduling process is simple. The dispatcher and customer service were polite and kept me informed of the technician's arrival. Chase arrived onsite, on time. He was courteous, professional and extremely knowledgeable. The time he spent inspecting my HVAC was not rushed, explaining everything he was checking. Chase was considerate, professional, COVID-safe, tidy, and obviously expert and knowledgeable. He explained everything in advance (without “mansplaining”), so there were no surprises! The whole process was completely transparent. He tested everything, from the electrical components to coolant levels and even cleaned out the pile of rotten leaves in the outdoor unit. (The last AC person that came out said “That’s not my job!”) The float switch was broken on my unit, but Chase demonstrated how it was not working, so I could see what the problem was with my own eyes. Talk about building trust! The final bill was more than fair and affordable. I’ll definitely keep The Comfort Authority for the future!

We’ve been with The Comfort Authority for a number of years and they are absolutely our go to for our HVAC needs. Luis arrived ahead of schedule and did aan bsolutely great job. Congenial and kept me informed the entire time. He was great at troubleshooting and diagnosing the problem. Great experience, person and company! Third posting. Glenn did a great job diagnosing my HVAC problem He arrived on time, was very professional and personable. This is my second posting. I called the Comfort Authority at 8 am and Jason was here by 9:45 am. My AC wasn't cooling, Jason diagnosed the problem and advised me that someone would be out the following day to replace the coil. Jason was extremely tenacious and kept going until he figured it out. Extremely professional and by the way, loved the rest at troubleshooting breast cancer awareness (pink) booties. This is my first posting. I can't say enough good things about The Comfort Authority. When confronted with an A/C problem, they diagnosed the issues and provided me with a detailed list of multiple options. Once we decided upon a course of action The Comfort Authority team was out the next day and did a great job. Very responsive and professional. Highly recommend!

What an amazing service and experience. Would highly recommend The Comfort Authority for any Air Conditioning services. Their technician, Luis, was methodical in his approach to the issue my A/C unit was having and within a few minutes figured out what the problem was. My A/C unit has been out for two days. I had a technician from Red Cap, which I had a service contract with, come both days and check the A/C unit they have been servicing for the past two years. Their technician couldn’t figure why the unit was showing a locked rotor code (04) and quoted me $6,700 for replacing the compressor and new refrigerant because more than likely that was the problem. The unit is not even 5 years old and is still under the manufacturer’s warranty for parts and labor. After declining Red Cap’s quote I went to the manufacturer webpage and found an authorized dealer that could verify if the compressor was faulty. That’s when I found The Comfort Authority and what a difference. I’m glad I decided to check for a second opinion even if I would have to pay out of pocket since I didn’t have a service contract with them YET. Luis identified the compressor wasn’t faulty, the fault was a bad starter kit that Red Cap installed this same year and went bad. I called Red Cap to let them know what was wrong and that their technician didn’t identify this issue both previous days and that it was a part they installed under their service warranty. They put me on hold and then told me that part was in order and would take a couple days and would call me back. I knew Red Cap didn’t identify that part was needed and that it’s a common starter kit which every A/C technician have in their vehicle. I told them exactly that and they put me on hold again to check with dispatch, after waiting over 5 minutes on hold Red Cap told me they couldn’t reach dispatch and didn’t want to let me wait on hold for long. I informed them to cancel my service contract at that moment, told them to tell dispatch not to call me as I wouldn’t be needing their services anymore. I would be happier paying out of pocket to replace the starter kit and switch my service contract with The Comfort Authority which I did. The Comfort Authority technician, Luis, was informative, knew what he was doing, showed me everything he was doing, and explained why he was doing it and what it meant. The A/C unit has no issues, the compressor is not faulty and is working as it should and it was within the manufacturers recommended readings. Luis not only checked the outside unit but also the inside unit and thermostat, he also ensured everything else within the unit was working properly and within the recommended readings. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with their service, I signed up for the service contract which also includes plumbing and would be sleeping comfortably tonight thanks to them.
